as of right now, we are a gpsl so joining is as easy as they come. you must have an ic journal (no underscores, numbers or extra letterS), at least one icon uploaded and a backdated ic & ooc post up and ready to go. if you're reusing a journal that's absolutely fine but please make sure your friends list is cleared out as well as old entries from other communities. at the moment we are not asking for examples but please read the activity portion of the rules to get an idea of what we're looking for writing wise. activity
currently we rely on several different methods to judge your activity. you should update your journal once a month with anything you'd like so long as it's creative. narratives (we have no word count) are the most preferred updates but we know that sometimes it's more fun to craft something in photoshop that puts your character's magical life on display. playlists will only be accepted if songs are expanded upon with writing. please remember that your characters aren't using the internet, so any kind of playlist cannot be open to be commented on. the second thing we will look at monthly is your interaction with the community. you can post anything to your journal or the subcommunity that's open for everyone else to comment on. this can be a question post, a group thread or any kind of interactive activity that is open to everyone at wizardly whether it's ic or ooc. general
wizardly is a community for those of us that would like to write harry potter themed characters in peace. the only kind of drama we're looking for is in character! we don't care what communities you were in in the past or who you played. the past is the past and it's time to move on from it. please be friendly and check the complaining and shit talking at the door. we're here to be ridiculous, have fun and write whatever kinds of characters we want. expect to see dramatic, over the top, bitchy, friendly, slutty, awkward, quiet, loud and all over the place characters here. that's the whole point. as usual do not cross any ic or ooc lines. if something happens ic keep it ic. a character's actions do not and should not reflect who a player is ooc. if any issues should arise, please contact a mod and we'll do our best to work it out.

current setting & characters
wizardly is set in london, england but your character can live anywhere you'd like; just keep in mind that most events will be taking place around diagon alley & london. your characters can work anywhere as well! apparating, floo travel and portkeys are all still favorites among wizards to get around. your character's background can include hogwarts, beauxtabons, ilvermorny, durmstrang or any other wizarding school you'd like that you can find information on. tumblr is a great source for this! all characters must be original. we ask for no ties to canon characters as that can get messy.

with the ongoing whispers about a new dark wizard emerging, we're sure there's going to be temptation to play a dark character or a character with death eater ties. for now, we ask that you refrain. the death eaters are long gone and they're not coming back. the rising dark wizard has aspirations that have nothing to do with blood purity so while your character can harbor prejudices surrounding that and can have a dark side/past or future - for now we ask that no characters with ties to the new forming dark magic rebellion be brought in. canon information
everything that is canon from fantastic beasts to harry potter and the deathly hallows is canon. however, pleae note that the cursed child is not considered canon here. your character knows harry potter's name, that there were 2 wars revolving around voldemort and all shops such as weasley wizard wheezes still exists! ollivanders has been restored in his name! please keep all of this in mind when creating your character's background and family. mini-plots
with the slow building plot of a new dark wizard, we will be working in many smaller plots and events for the community. we plan on implementing many fun aspects of harry potter! inferi, curses, jinxes, dementors, polyjuice potions, etc. we have ideas and plans running through halloween and we accept all ideas our members have. not only will these plots revolve heavily around group threads (plot posts will be minimal) and daily prophet/witch weekly news stories but your creativity and open-mindedness. everyone will have roles to play so long as you're active & friendly! all we want is to have fun and write and take our time with character development. if that's something you're interested in, please join!
